Mechanical Seal
Reconditioning
Henry R. Ayton
provides wide-ranging solutions to meet your company’s requirements
for seal maintenance and performance monitoring of pumps, mixers,
agitators etc.
-
Set pricing refurbishments
– Where we would offer a 3 or 5 stage price for refurbished
seals and pumps based on an agreed level of work required.
-
Service Exchange
– Where available we can offer a refurbished John Crane
cartridge seal in place of a competitors seal at a fraction of
the cost of a new seal.
-
Seal management contracts
– Where we will carry out a site survey of pumps and vessels,
check installation, check leakage, re-fill thermosyphons,
repair/replace mechanical seal if required and issue report with
recommendations if required.
-
Seal reliability contracts
– Where we chart all seal failures on the John
Crane Interface database which is made available for clients to
view at any time via personal password, where the opportunity to
view failure reports and seal/pump failure history is available
which also allows HRA to issue reports on bad performing
seals/pumps at set time scales eg 3-6-12 month intervals.
-
Condition Monitoring
– Where a 3-1 wireless transmitting node is attached to either
all pumps or only the critical pumps via the thermosyphons where
a signal is sent to visual output where it tracks level,
pressure and temperature. This can be integrated into a client’s
internal management system or alternatively a HRA representative
can come to site either bi-weekly weekly or monthly to monitor
and offer recommendations on pump performance.
-
Seal Training
– Where a tailored training package can be assembled and
presented to key personal at either our facility or at the
clients site. Also if required we can call on the support of
John Crane UK & John Crane Europe for specialised in-depth
aspects of a training plan.
Henry R. Ayton have for many years provided a full mechanical seal
refurbishment service from our Cork Service Centre where seals after
removal, either through plant maintenance, normal use or seal
failure, are returned for refurbishment at a fraction of the cost of
a new product. This involves the cleaning and inspection of the
incoming parts to determine the extent of the work to be performed
and to identify which components need replacement. On receipt of
approval from the customer our technicians perform the work
necessary to return the product to “like new” condition, using only
OEM materials and work procedures. All seals are tested and
certified prior to dispatch. Each unit has its own unique
identification code which allows for full traceability. Also, if
required a full engineering report can be produced identifying cause
of seal failure with recommendations to improve seal performance.
This is achieved
through reliability tracking using John Cranes INTERFACE Reliability
Management System which incorporates equipment failure data
management, root cause analysis, data consolidation and reporting.
The INTERFACE system is a valuable management tool for rotating
equipment service and reliability.

Henry R. Ayton’s across the board
experience in sealing technology together with the support of John
Crane the acknowledged leader and worlds largest designer,

our customers an unrivalled seal refurbishment service.

Henry R. Ayton offer

systems are in good hands.
